[Dax’s Rumi Ramblings #11]

When setting out on a journey, do not seek advice from those who have never left home. ~ Rumi

Which is to say, of course, that those who have not been open to challenging their thinking, growing their worldview and opening themselves to new experiences, perspectives and outlooks are rarely going to be those people who can help YOU to overcome the challenges you face in your own life.

Instead of seeking advice from those who CLAIM to have the knowledge to help you, OBSERVE those you meet for how they show up in life.

Are they happy? Are they fulfilled? Do they smile? Do they laugh? Do they see beauty, miracle and wonder in the world? Do they show up in some way that YOU would like to show up?

If not, why would you ever ask them for advice?

A large bank balance alone doesn’t qualify a person as a success.

Look to how much love and light and laughter is present in their lives, look to how they LIVE, and if how they live is how YOU want to live, then by all means, ask them about their journey, for you MAY wish to travel the same way for a while.

Enjoy the journey!
